Canals & Lakes
The canals and lakes in Costa Rica give the visitor the
opportunity for observing a great variety of animal species,
especially birds. Also, they allow to practice sports like
Wind Surfing. The Tortuguero canals and Caño Negro
Lake are specially attractive places for the lovers of birds,
while the western part of the Arenal Lake is an ideal place
for the practice of this sport. In fact it has been compared
with places like Il Garda Lake (Italy) and George River
in Columbia (United States).
