Mount Chirripó
Mount Chirripó is the highest point in Costa Rica at
3820 meters (12530 feet) over sea level, and it is the most
known mountain in Talamanca Mountain Range. It offers the
visitor landscapes that can’t be appreciated in any
other part of the country, included glacier origin lakes.
When the sky is clear, the Atlantic and Pacific oceans can
be seen.
To get to Chirripó’s peak, it’s not necessary
to be a professional climber. Anyone with a good physical
condition, can climb it in two stages. First it begins in
San Gerardo de Rivas (a small town located on hill’s
foot) until you get to the shelter (That can last around six
hours). You can rests here and then continue to Chirripó the next day, early in the morning (two hours). Depending
on who does the climbing, it can take more or less time. It
is important to consider that more than arrive at first, or
to get a new time record, the important thing is to enjoy
the beauty their paths offer during the whole journey. Hotels, Restaurants & More...
